H2O Extreme Diani Beach and The Sands at Nomad are bringing back the Kenya Cup in January 2017! The Kite Competition will be held from 20th to 22nd of January on the premises of The Sands at Nomad Beach Bar. The event is open for any competitor to join, women and men are competing separately.

We decided that this year's event will be dedicated to our precious ocean wildlife. Therefore all profits made by the raffle, registration and entrance fees will be donated to the Local Ocean Trust. We will also organise a big collective beach clean up on the 22nd of January, Takataka Sunday.

Thanks to Base Titanium for helping us to make this happen and to Cocoon Studio for all the art work!

The event will start on Friday morning 10.00AM with the riders registration, briefing and drawing of the heats. Each competitor has to pay a registration fee of 2500ksh and the first 25 registrations will get an exclusive competitors t-shirt in return. If you want to register please click here:

and under main reasons for enquiry select Kenya Cup 2017. Write your full name, date of birth and nationality into the message.

The heats will start between 12pm and 1pm and will follow the K.O. system. Selected judges will decide the points to allocate to the competitors. The rider of each heat with highest total number of points will win the heat and continue in the next round. Further details and rules will be published here at a later stage.

During the whole event you will have the chance to buy tickets for our big raffle with attractive prizes. The costs per raffle ticket are 200ksh, whereby you can by 6 tickets for 1000ksh.

On Saturday we will see the semi finals and finals of women and men and we will choose the winners (men/women) of the much sought-after Kenya Cup trophy. There will also be music and shows by different acrobatics, dancers and artist all day.

In the evening hours of Saturday, 21st January, our well known Hawaiian Party will kick off at The Sands at Nomad Beach Bar. As it is a theme party we want to encourage everybody to dress up as Hawaiian as possible. The best costume will be honoured with a prize. Entrance fees for the Hawaiian Party are 500ksh per person.

The best way to cure a bad hangover from the night before is a walk on the beach and a swim in the ocean in the morning. At 10.00AM on Sunday morning we will meet up for a big collective beach clean up on Diani Beach. Let's all work together to keep our beaches and oceans clean and to preserve our nature and beautiful wildlife. #takatakasunday
